Professor Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, participated in the opening ceremony of the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, inaugurated by Professor Dr. Ahmed Hano, Minister of Culture, at the Egypt's Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement.
Dr. Ayyad welcomed the Minister of Culture to the Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta pavilion, where he highlighted its extensive collection of publications, including the Encyclopedia of Islamic Fatwas and the Encyclopedia of Authenticated Fatwas. The pavilion will also host a variety of distinguished seminars and events throughout the fair. This year, Dar Al-Ifta honors Sheikh Muhammad Bakhit Al-Muti’i as its featured personality, showcasing his life and works through a specially produced documentary.
On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Ayyad met with Dr. Maria Al-Hattali, Secretary-General of the UAE Council for Fatwa. She expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and invited His Eminence to visit the council’s pavilion. During their discussion, Dr. Al-Hattali shared insights into the council’s efforts in publishing jurisprudential works, while Dr. Ayyad presented Dar Al-Ifta’s key publications designed to engage various societal audiences.
